FX released six trailers for the upcoming Season 6 of American Horror Story, and while they were chilling and have us anxious for more, there is still no real indication of what theme is in store for the anthology. However, a new theory has surfaced recently, suggesting the AHS Season 6 theme will be Forest.

Sources including PopWrapped and PopSugar claim to have received tips that American Horror Story Season 6 will follow a theme similar to Peter Pan, Deliverance and The Exorcist; alluding to something whimsical yet terrifying for the show. However, amid the release of the AHS trailers, such a theme seems unlikely.

Why The AHS Season 6 Theme Isn’t Forest

To refute this claim, one need look no further that the trailers FX has released. There are two teasers that depict outside scenery and there are no trees or wooded areas in either of these promos. In fact, both trailers show a flat, plain-type location with mountains or hills in the far background.

Many have suggested the AHS theme could be similar to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. One trailer, called “What’s Cooking,” depicts a solitary house with smoke billowing from the chimney in the shape of the Season 6 “?6” symbol. Fans have suggested the house is similar to the one featured in the cartoon, Courage the Cowardly Dog.

The other trailer depicts two adults and a child walking toward a camera with glowing eyes among a similar backdrop. Overall, there is simply little connection to a Forest theme within the AHS trailers.

What could the AHS Theme Be?

Deciphering the trailers, many believe the American Horror Story Season 6 could follow a Farm theme or could be set in an American Frontier-type era. Another trailer features Lady Gaga with a millipede running over her head. Variety noted that millipedes are often used in farming and agriculture for decomposition purposes, which would probably lend well to a horror show.

Rumors also suggest the Season 6 theme could be Antichrist, which would pick up from a cliffhanger in Season 1, Murder House.

While fans attempt to decipher clues from the recently released trailers, it is possible the American Horror Story theme won’t be revealed until the show premieres.
