A total of 16 Dota 2 teams are now ready to fight as the DreamLeague Season 13: Leipzig Major officially begins tomorrow. This is the second of five majors in the new DPC Season. As a Major tournament, it offers a $1 million prize pool and a total of 15,000 DPC points.

Format

There are a total of 16 teams with 15 coming from the Regional Qualifiers and the last team through the WePlay! Bukovel Minor 2020. The teams are then divided into four GSL Groups and will play in best-of three games. The top two teams move to the Upper Bracket in the Playoffs while the bottom two go to the Lower Bracket.

The Playoffs follow a double elimination bracket with the games also being best-of three. The only difference is that the first round of the Lower Bracket is played as a best-of one while the Grand Finals is a best-of five.

Predictions

With all of the formality out of the way, we can predict the teams moving to the Upper Bracket of the Playoffs.

For Group A, we're going first with Nigma. Nigma entered the tournament through the Minor and in fact made it by going again through the Lower Bracket. This Group also has two teams from the SEA region. We're going with TNC on this one. While TNC didn't fare as well during the Singapore Invitational, the team is the MDL Chengdu Major champion and even won the ESL One Hmaburg back in October.

Group B is a bit easier to guess, and it's clear we're going to go with Vici Gaming and Team Secret. VG took home the gold during the Singapore Invitational and has been showing good performance lately. While Team Secret needs some time to make adjustments to their chemistry, they remain to be a strong team.

Group C is a bit tricky. We'll go with iG to make it to the Playoffs. The team remains to be a strong one and may be the team to beat. Alliance may initially be a good bet, but instead we're calling if for VP. The team hasn't been having good showings lately, but we think they may fare beter than Alliance.

Finally we get to Group D. Despite putting Syed Sumail "SumaiL" Hassan on inactive status, Evil Geniuses still has strong talent so they'll probably make it to the Playoffs. For the second team, it's a tough choice between Na'Vi and Liquid. It's likely going to be Na'Vi as the team has slowly been getting back to form.

What about you? Who do you think is going to the Upper Bracket of the Leipzig Major?
