‘Justice League Dark’ Movie Gets Matt Ryan’s Constantine [Sneak Peek]

No, Constantine Season 2 isn’t happening, and Matt Ryan hasn’t been confirmed for Legends of Tomorrow or Arrow. He’ll be the voice of John Constantine in Justice League Dark.

“I really wanted to jump into this project to play Constantine in a different context, around some of the iconic characters that are in the DC ‘dark’ world,” Ryan says in the sneak peek below.

Constantine joins Justice League Dark members Zatanna, Etrigan the Demon, Swamp Thing, Black Orchid and Deadman. While Batman, Superman and Green Lantern are all in the movie, they won’t be the focus.

“The mainstream heroes are not the right guys for the job,” Director Mike Carlin said. “These are not guys who go to meetings and sit around a table. They kind of appear and disappear when needed.”

Carlin went on to say it will actually be Constantine to take the lead.

“Constantine is like the everyman of the supernatural world. He’s got powers, but he’s not flashy,” the directors say in the clip. “He’s the perfect guy you want as the lead because when he does heroic things it actually means something.

Matt Ryan reprised his role as John Constantine, same outfit and all, during the fourth season of Arrow. Watch Constantine Season 1 in full on CW Seed. Justice League Dark releases fall 2016.
