Square Enix announced that the latest title in the legendary SaGa franchise is finally here. SaGa Emerald Beyond is available for the PC via Steam as well as consoles PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and the Nintendo Switch. The game is also being released on mobile devices through Android and iOS. It has the very best elements that made the series loved by players like the free-form scenario system and strategic combat.

SaGa Emerald Beyond is able to bring together the core combat elements and free-form scenario elements that the franchise is known for to deliver what can be described as the ultimate SaGa experience not only for long-time fans but even for those new to the series. Players can look forward to a lot of exciting features like diverse characters having thrilling backstories and the evolving choice-driven narrative. Let's not forget the deeply strategic combat.

Those are not the only things that make this new game truly exciting. That's because it also sees the return of legendary icons of the series like SaGa creator Akitoshi Kawazu, composer Kenji Ito, and illustrator Satoshi Kuramochi. They are the ones responsible for making sure that this new title is something that returning and new fans can enjoy.

In a statement, SaGa Series General Director Akitoshi Kawazu shared that this year marks the 35th anniversary of the series. That means this game is basically a title that has 35 years' worth of experimentation and innovation behind it. Kawazu went on to say that he hopes longtime fans can enjoy the game especially with the "ongoing innovations and callbacks to previous SaGa titles." He added that those new to the game can start their very own new adventure and hope that they have an "unforgettable experience" with it.

Meanwhile, SaGa Series Producer Masanori Ichikawa revealed that it was an honor for him to be able to work on the franchise. He said that the things that made him love the series are all in the game like the challenging strategic combat and free-form scenario, to name a few. He also said that they made sure to welcome new players to the game.

For those who are not yet sure if the game is for them, demos are available for the PC, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation consoles. These demos offer several hours of content from each of the three demo characters' storylines. This should give players a taste of what they can look forward to in the full game with the full cast. By the way, the demo save data is transferrable to the full game on that respective platform.
