Publisher Sega and developer Ryu Go Gotoku have just announced that Yakuza: Like A Dragon will be launching soon in the west for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via the Microsoft Store. It has also been announced that Yakuza: Like A Dragon will be available for the Xbox Series X on day one of the console’s launch in November. The PlayStation 5 will also have a day one release for its own launch date. A new trailer titled “How Will You Rise?” has also been unveiled by Sega, which stars protagonist Ichiban Kasuga along with party members Nanba, Saeko, and Adachi. The two-minute trailer showcases the group as they switch to and from the 20 unique Jobs (classes) that the game has to offer.

Yakuza: Like A Dragon deviates from the Yakuza series in several ways. First off, the game introduces Ichiban Kasuga for the first time in the franchise. A low-ranking grunt of a Yakuza family in Tokyo, Kasuga loyally takes the fall for a crime he did not commit and spends 18 years in prison. After his release and eventual return to society, he finds out that his clan has been destroyed by the person he trusted and respected the most.

Like a Dragon then proceeds with the player guiding Ichiban Kasuga on his journey towards discovering the truth behind his clan’s demise, and taking his life back with the help of a ragtag group of social outcasts by his side. Kasuga's friends include Adachi, a rogue cop, Nanba, a homeless ex-nurse, and Saeko, a hostess on a mission. Set in Yokohama, the group must then rise to the occasion and become the heroes to a conflict they are inevitable drawn into.

Another major change introduced in Yakuza: Like A Dragon is in its “Dynamic RPG Combat” which combines both real-time and turn-based mechanics. Players can switch between Jobs and make use of their environment as a weapon. And as always, there are tons of features to get you side-tracked littered throughout the game, such as local arcades, go-kart races, and more.

Yakuza: Like A Dragon is set to launch in the west for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via the Microsoft Store.
