The Xbox One S may have a release date of Aug. 2, if leaks on Amazon.es is to be believed. The Spanish version of Amazon currently has the new console listed to release Aug. 2, but Microsoft has yet to make any official announcements.

Microsoft revealed the Xbox One S at this year’s E3 press conference, but didn’t make any official statements about when the new console would be released. We were told it would be this August, so seeing Aug. 2 posted by Amazon makes sense.

Curiously, if you go to the main Amazon.com listing for the Xbox One S, the release date is listed as Aug. 31. The last day in a month is typically just a placeholder date, so we’ll see what actually happens.

That being said, August is coming quickly, so Microsoft should be making the official release date announcement any day now. Don’t believe any listing as fact until then.

The Xbox One S, for those who aren’t aware, is a redesign of the Xbox One console. The new machine is much smaller, has the power supply built right into it, has an updated controller and can support 4K videos. It also features a hard drive that can go up to a whopping 2 TB.
