Xbox Game Pass Ultimate at $20? Here's How to Get Pre-Increase Subscription Price

Microsoft has increased the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate monthly subscription price to $30, leading many players to cancel their subscription or brace for the higher fees. The good news is there is still a way to get it at only $20.

Players have recently been alarmed by the massive increase in the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, but for those who have been automatically paying this via their cards, they are left with no choice but to pay the extra $10.

However, there is one loophole of sorts to avoid paying the additional $10 fee to their subscription with a limited-time method that could also change shortly.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate at $20: Here's How to Get It

ComicBook Gaming shared a new report that details a possible loophole players could take advantage of for the time being if they want to continue paying the same $20 monthly fee for their Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription.

This method is currently the only way to avoid Microsoft's price hike, which adds an extra $10 to the service's monthly fee.

According to the report, users may head on over to retailers who offer Xbox Game Pass Ultimate monthly access and membership gift cards as these companies have not yet effected the price increase. While Microsoft has mandated the price increase across all its storefronts, especially those that have set up their online accounts directly on the platform, this gift card method is still available.

Retailers like GameStop, Amazon, and Best Buy are still offering Xbox Game Pass Ultimate gift cards at their former prices, with the option of either a one-month or three-month membership available.

As of press time, the one-month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate gift card membership remains at $20 over at Amazon, the former price of the direct subscription via Microsoft's platform. On the other hand, the three-month membership gift card is available on Best Buy in its former price of$59.99.

Cheaper Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Could be Limited

There is also GameStop, who still offers the cheaper Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership for $19.99 per month, and those who are subscribed to its Pro membership could get it for a cheaper $18.99 price.

All of the linked options above are offering the digital code that users need to input on their Xbox Game Pass accounts to get the Ultimate membership.

However, ComicBook Gaming claims that this pricing may not hold out for long as retailers could adopt Microsoft's pricing for the membership.

That said, GameStop has officially announced via X that it will continue to uphold the $19.99 Xbox Game Pass Ultimate gift card price in-store and online for all interested users to avail. So far, GameStop is the only retailer that has affirmed that it is keeping the former price of the membership to $20 for the one-month access.

Based on speculations, GameStop may have purchased many of the membership codes at $19.99 and still has stocks of these, hence their capability to keep it at the same price.
