It's Xur day, Destiny fans!
This week, Xur can be found waiting in Tower North, across from the Speaker's observatory.
We’ve reached the end of one of the video game industry’s biggest weeks in the last couple years. There haven’t been any big announcements from the Destiny team. But we’re only a few days removed from the debut of Horizon Zero Dawn, the critically acclaimed open world RPG from Guerrilla Games, and thousands (maybe millions) of gamers are preparing for a weekend with the newly-launched Nintendo Switch. But even with all that excitement, it’s probably safe to assume there are still a few Destiny diehards out there who are far more concerned with Xur’s weekly visit than Horizon or a new Nintendo console. We can’t promise the Agent of the Nine’s latest visit won’t be any less disappointing than the rest of his 2017 visits. But at least interested parties still get a chance to buy new exotics if they’ve saved enough Strange Coins.
Last week, Xur didn’t do much to shed his image as an increasingly irrelevant part of the Destiny end-game experience. The Agent of the Nine returned to the Tower with a bag full of Twilight Garrisons and Celestial Nighthawks, along with Claws of Ahamkara and Hawkmoon. You know, in case one of the 18 people interested in the hand cannon (who don’t already own it) happened to stop by. At this point, it’s probably safe to assume Xur’s next collection won’t be much more spectacular. But we can always hold out hope for something jaw-dropping.
