The Walking Dead Season 7 finale might feature a moment where Daryl and Dwight square off. You saw how Daryl was ready to beat the Dwight in Alexandria’s cell! He was ready to kill him. It would be a shame to waste that moment, and not have a showdown between the two characters. Daryl doesn’t trust Dwight, and neither do we.
The Walking Dead has remixed the source material quite a lot this season. Eugene is now with Negan instead of making bullets for Rick. There’s another community ready to fight. Carl hasn’t tried to leave Alexandria for Hilltop. Michonne and Rick are a thing. We wouldn’t be surprised if Dwight is still a Negan .
Look, the guy has done nothing but torture the people of Alexandria. Dwight would bait Rosita every time he visited Alexandria. He would do stupid things, like take her hat and make her go out on a run. We don’t need to remind you what he willingly did to Daryl while he was a prisoner of Alexandria.
While Dwight definitely hates Negan, we don’t trust he’s helping Rick out of the kindness of his heart. What if Dwight wants to become Negan? What if his plans are more sinister than he’s letting on? What if he’s there to overthrow Negan and take control? For all we know, Negan could’ve been too effective an influence on Dwight.
It would be an interesting twist to add to the show. Rick might be blinded by the Negan threat and won't realize Dwight is making moves to take over. Hey, anything could happen in the show. Whatever the case, Rick would be a fool to trust Dwight. He’s up to no good. Dwight could get Daryl killed. We want him nowhere near Alexandria.
