Dontnod Entertainment, the company behind Life Is Strange and a handful of other narrative-driven adventure games, is proud to announce that it’s 2018 title Vampyr has just broken through a major milestone: one million copies sold worldwide. Vampyr has received numerous awards and nominations, marking it the studio's most successful title to date, but Dontnod doesn’t seem to be slowing down just yet. In fact, the developer may be working on something even better.

2018’s breakaway hit Vampyr had players prowling the plague-stricken streets of 1918 London as - you guessed it - a vampire. But what’s special about this game is that you not only get to play a vampire, you get to play a Doctor Vampire. No kidding - you’re a renowned surgeon famous for your studies about blood, and at some point in the story, you get turned into a vampire. Whether it was accidental, fated, or by the design of friend or foe, it’s up to you to find out. Between your ungodly vampiric powers and your oath as a medical man to rid London of this hemo-plague, is it really that important to find out? Vampyr asks you that question, and it gives you that choice.

After that elegant pseudo-sales pitch, you’re probably no longer surprised that Vampyr has, to date, sold over a million copies worldwide.

Now, you would think that developer Dontnod Entertainment, and the publisher Focus Home Interactive would think to quit while they’re ahead, but it’s actually just the opposite. Following the massive success of Vampyr, Dontnod and Focus Home are continuing their partnership and renewing their publishing deal. Both companies have hinted at the fact that they’re in the process of creating their ‘most ambitious’ video game title yet, and after Vampyr, the gaming community is more excited than ever to find out what’s next for the studio and the publisher.

For now, all we can do is wait. However, if you haven’t played it yet, Vampyr comes with my own personal recommendation. It’s available on PS4, Xbox One, and Steam for PC.
