You can add one more game to the long list of delayed games. Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, the sequel to the original 2004 cult-classic, has been delayed. Bloodlines 2 was initially supposed to release back in March, however, it was delayed to the end of the year. Now, the release date has been pushed even further. The exact release date hasn’t been announced yet, however, we do know that it will launch sometime during 2021.

The announcement was made via the official Vampire Twitter handle. The developers of the game, Hardsuit Labs, said that they need more time to ‘deliver the best game possible’. They claimed that they need more time so that their game can meet the quality bar they have set for themselves. It is not known whether the on-going Covid-19 outbreak was responsible for this delay or not, but it likely played at least a small part in the decision.

“Our goal has always been to deliver the best game possible, to immerse you into a Seattle re-imagined in the World of Darkness, and deliver a worthy successor to the original Bloodlines game. Due to the quality bar and ambitions we have set for ourselves, we have made the difficult decision that we need more time,” the official tweet reads. “This means that our goal to release in 2020 is no longer possible. Moving launch is one of the changes we are making to ensure the best player experience possible.”

Bloodlines 2 may not have the biggest fanbase, however, it is loyal. The fans of the original game have waited over 14 years for a sequel and now they will have to wait a little bit longer. Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will launch on both current and next-gen consoles. The game is confirmed for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. The game will be mostly playable in the first-person mode, however, there are some third-person elements.
