Publisher PiG Corporation and developer ForwardWorks have just announced that they will be releasing the hit match-three puzzle game Toro and Friends: Onsen Town worldwide on June 23 for iOS via the App Store and Android via Google Play. The game was first launched in Japan as Toro to Puzzle: Doko Demo Issyo (literally translated to “Everywhere Together”) in October of 2019.
Toro and Friends: Onsen Town follows the adventures of Toro in the town of Amatsu-Sora on his quest to find the mystical Onsen (Japanese hot springs) that can turn him human. Along the way, players will encounter the civilization of the adorable Pokepi (Pocket People) and teach them words to have conversations with them. By advancing through the story, players will be able to improve the town of Amatsu-Sora, but not without the help of the Pokepi and Toro's friends: Sora, the feline face of the inn, Kuro, who is the happy-go-lucky black cat of the bunch, Jun, the bunny who loves TV and Karaoke, Pierre, the dog who’d love to travel the world someday, Ricky, who is the most confident frog in the world, and Suzuki, a diligent robot who aims to invent something revolutionary someday.
The brunt of Toro and Friends: Onsen Town’s gameplay is going though increasingly challenging match-three puzzles made up of different types of fruits. Completing levels gives players rewards that they can use to progress the story further, buy upgrades to restore and renovate the abandoned town of Amatsu-Sora, and most importantly, customize and style their Toro.
Toro and Friends: Onsen Town will be available in more than 100 countries on June 23. PiG Corporation has also announced that those who are interested in playing the game can now pre-register to get in-game bonuses. These bonuses come in tiers depending on how many players actually sign up for pre-registration. For 50,000 users, 1,000 coins will be given out and 2,000 coins will be given if 150,000 people pre-register. The next milestone will require 400,000 users and will give out four boosters. The next tier is 2,000 coins and four boosters that will be given out at 600,000 users. Lastly, once pre-registration reaches 1,000,000 users, 5,000 coins, a unique outfit, and eight boosters will be given out.
