SkyBox Labs, known for their work co-developing Halo Infinite, has released the PAX West Trailer for their planned cinematic platformer titled Stela.

The game is a cinemetic and atmospheric platformer following the story of Stela, a young woman witnessing the final days of a mysterious ancient world. Through the use of platforming mechanics, players guide Stela to overcome daunting challenges, treacherous terrain, and gargantuan beasts while traversing the decaying land. Elaborate puzzles can be solved by manipulating the environment and using your platforming skills to the fullest. Dangerous creatures are also scattered throughout the expiring world, hiding under the guise of muted landscapes. This is all accompanied by an original soundtrack that sets the tone for the bleak world collapsing all around our titular protagonist.

In the game’s newly released trailer, we are given a peek at some the previously unseen landscapes in the game. This includes The Temple Dungeons, an underground labyrinth filled to the brim with dangerous traps, The Caverns, home of a mysterious ancient monster that has been awakened, and The Monastery, a monumental building sitting atop a mountain which was once home to those who tried to save the now dying world.

SkyBox Labs is a studio based in Vancouver, Canada known for their work with the industry’s most prominent publishers such as Xbox Game Studios, GungHo, and Electronic Arts. Some of their works include the aforementioned co-developing stint on Halo Infinite, projects within the Minecraft Universe, and turn-based indie strategy game TASTEE: Lethal Tactics, which currently sits at a Mostly Positive Rating on its Steam Page. It will be interesting to see what their first attempt at a platformer will turn out like.

No release date has been confirmed yet for Stela, but its Steam page indicates a 2019 launch date. For those who are itching to get their hands on the cinematic platformer, here are the early Minimum System requirements for the game:
