Rumors are a bound for Samsung’s foldable smartphones , which are expected to release in February 2017 at Mobile World Congress. Buzz about the new technology is so fervent that even Samsung is talking about the possibility.

Samsung President and CEO of the North American division, Gregory Lee, recently stated at the Rutberg’s Future: Mobile conference that foldable displays are “right around the corner.” This is likely the most concrete details the public will get about the technology until the official unveiling.

Pundits suggest that Lee’s comments make it seem like foldable display smartphones could release sometime in 2016. However, since a report from Bloomberg indicted the manufacturer would release two foldable devices in 2017, the latter suggestion holds more weight.

At least one of Samsung's developments is called "Project Valley." The device starts as a 5-inch standard smartphone size and can fold out into an 8-inch tablet size, according to Bloomberg . At this time, no other specification details are known about the device. It may be called the Samsung X.
