Developer Double Damage Games has just announced that it will soon be launching their space shooter Rebel Galaxy Outlaw for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on September 22. Rebel Galaxy Outlaw was initially released exclusively for PC via the Epic Games Store in August 2019.
In Rebel Galaxy Outlaw, players assume the role of Juno Markev, a space wanderer who has “a killer to tail, a debt to pay, and more trouble headed her way” in a world filled with outlaws, corrupt cops, thieves, and more. The game, self-described as an open-world space combat adventure game, allows players to take on any role they wish, such as a mercenary, trader, pirate, or whatever mix of the three one can think of. Despite having a main storyline to follow, Rebel Galaxy Outlaw provides a plethora of quests, side-missions, and mini distractions to keep you entertained. Become a bounty hunter and engage in intergalactic dogfights with pirates, deliver precious cargo, hunt for space treasures, answer distress calls, or just maybe chill and relax by playing pool or slots in one of the nearly 40 solar systems that make up the Dodge Sector.
Since I’ve mentioned the dogfighting aspect of the game, Rebel Galaxy Outlaw has a feature called the ‘Autopursuit’ feature, which takes the tedious part of space combat out of the equation and leaves the player to enjoy its best asset, which is shooting down opposing ships. Collect enough credits from your escapades and you will be able to upgrade your ship’s armor, weapons, and other gear, and even put together your very own customized livery so that baddies know you are coming from a mile away. If you are growing tired of your ship, the game also offers other ships for purchase, each with their own specialties. Finally, Rebel Galaxy Outlaw's strongest suit may be its in-game radio, which features over 21 hours of music scattered across seven radio stations, each with their own DJs, genres, and tongue-in-cheek ads like GTA’s radio stations.
Rebel Galaxy Outlaw is set to launch for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on September 22 for $29.99.
