Is Rainbow Six Siege readying another patch soon? According to redditor @299person299, a new /r/Rainbow6PTS subreddit was created, hinting at some sort of Public Test Server access ahead of an upcoming Siege update.

"Around three hours ago (at the time of this posting), Epi created /r/Rainbow6PTS," 229person299 said on reddit. "Obviously this has something to do with Public Test Servers. As we all know, it has been confirmed multiple times that PTS will be implemented into the game in order to reduce the amount of bugs/glitches appearing in each patch.

"I think that this subreddit will be a closed community for testers only where they will be able to voice their concerns and observations directly to Ubi.

"This means that PTS are rapidly approaching. Wouldn't be surprised if they popped up in the next patch."

Bugs and glitches have affected both server stability as well as gameplay, causing a lot of grief for players on Rainbow Six Siege. But if the new PTS works as intended, we can expect to see far less issues in the updates and patches ahead.

Earlier this month, Ubisoft announced that although it will not introduce new game modes for Rainbow Six Siege, it will continue its seasonal DLC road map of new maps and operators, potentially introducing as many as 100 operators before ending support for the game.

"We're constantly looking and prototyping," Alexandre Remy, brand director for Rainbow Six: Siege, told PC Gamer. "But the thing is, when doing that we concluded that there are some foundations to Siege that we want to keep: attack versus defense, destruction, operators, and [only having] one life. That is the DNA of the game, so when you look at what game modes would sufficiently refresh the experience but remain faithful to those rules, there's not that many. Siege is its own game mode."

When Ubisoft opened the Public Test Server for The Division on Sept. 26, players were asked to test the current build for the game's Update 1.4 ahead of its official release. Ultimately, The Division 1.4 Update arrived on Oct. 25, almost exactly a month after the PTS. Given this timeline, we may expect to see a new update for Rainbow Six Siege to arrive sometime in early April.
