Before Pokémon Sun and Moon were released, the special demo was made available for trainers to get used to the new UI and mechanics of Sun and Moon before its Nov. 18 release. It was also a great way to get a special Greninja.
This Greninja comes with the ability Battle Bond, which transforms Greninja into Ash-Greninja once it knocks out one Pokémon. This new form increases its stats and makes its Water Shuriken attack even more powerful.
However, you’ll need to have the special Sun and Moon demo downloaded on your 3DS with either your physical or digital download of the games on the same 3DS.
Here’s how to transfer your Ash-Greninja from the demo to either version of Sun and Moon.
Boot up your special Sun and Moon demo and head to the Pokémon Center and speak to Professor Kukui. He’ll ask you what you’d like to do and you choose the “bring to full version.”
From there he’ll ask what you want to bring over to the full Sun and Moon game and you can send Ash-Greninja or any of the items picked up from your time with the demo over to to Sun and Moon .
Choose Greninja and Kukui will warn you that this Greninja won’t obey you until you complete two grand trials in Sun and Moon , so be aware.
Quit out of the demo and boot up your Sun or Moon game. Go to the nearest Pokémon Center and speak to the gentleman in the yellow and blue shirt near the help desk. He will ask if you want your Mystery Gift.
Like past games, you’ll need to have a slot open in your party to retrieve a Pokémon so be sure you do before talking to him.
Accept the gift and Greninja with the Battle Bond ability will be in your Sun or Moon game.
