Pokémon GO Reveals Changes to Attacks in Trainer Battles

Season 6 of the GO Battle League is still in progress. However, that hasn’t stopped Pokémon GO from making any changes to the game. The main changes are on the attacks in Trainers Battles. Then, there are new attacks made available to certain Pokémon.

Here are the attacks updated for Trainer Battles:

  • Now generate more energy.
    • Karate Chop
      • Fighting-type
      • Fast Attack
  • Now deal more damage.
    • Ember
      • Fire-type
      • Fast Attack
  • Now deal less damage.
    • Bubble
      • Water-Type
      • Fast Attack
    • Razor Leaf
      • Grass-Type
      • Fast Attack
    • Crabhammer
      • Water-type
      • Charged Attack
    • Sky Attack
      • Flying-type
      • Charged Attack
    • Rock Slide
      • Rock-type
      • Charged Attack
    • Shadow Bone
      • Ghost-type
      • Charged Attack

Meanwhile, these attacks are going to be available to Pokémon that couldn’t learn them before:

  • Fire-type Weather Ball.
    • Fire-type attack.
    • Now be available to:
      • Vulpix (originally discovered in the Kanto region).
      • Ninetales (originally discovered in the Kanto region).
  • ​Ice-type Weather Ball.
    • Ice-type attack.
    • Now be available to:
      • Vulpix (originally discovered in the Kanto region).
      • Ninetales (originally discovered in the Kanto region).
  • Water-type Weather Ball.
    • Water-type attack.
    • Now be available to:
      • Politoed
  • Ice Punch.
    • Ice-type attack.
    • Now be available to:
      • Primeape
  • Ice Beam.
    • Ice-type attack.
    • Now be available to:
      • Claydol
  • ​Shadow Ball.
    • Ghost-type attack.
    • Now be available to:

Moreover, Trainers who reach Rank 20 are guaranteed to encounter Frillish. The encounter is the Pokémon’s official debut in the game. For those at Rank 19, they now receive an Elite Charged TM. Trainers also get an Elite Fast TM as an end-of-season reward if they manage to reach Rank 19.
