On Wednesday, Atlus USA revealed the English voice cast for Persona 5, along with two new videos. One features the first English footage from the game, while the other features an interview with the voice actor portraying the game’s protagonist, Xander Mobus.

Here’s the official Persona 5 English cast, courtesy of Persona Central:

  • Xander Mobus as the protagonist
  • Cassandra Morris as Morgana
  • Max Mittelman as Ryuji Sakamoto
  • Erika Harlacher as Ann Takamaki
  • Matt Mercer as Yusuke Kitagawa
  • Cherami Leigh as Makoto Niijima
  • Erica Lindbeck as Futaba Sakura
  • Xanthe Huynh as Haru Okumura
  • Robbie Daymond as Goro Akechi

The first English-language audio footage of the game shows the protagonist getting into a few scrapes, donning his Phantom Thief disguise and ripping off an enemy’s head in battle (!!!), all to the tune of the unbelievably catchy Persona 5 opening theme, ‘Wake Up, Get Up, Get Out There.’

Even from this short clip, it seems as though Mobus will bring a warmer, more upbeat vibe to Persona 5’s protagonist. Previous main characters in the series have often been gloomy, mysterious or aloof, but that’s definitely not what comes across here. Mobus played the announcer in the most recent installment of the Super Smash Bros. series and the Ultimate Warrior in Camp WWE. He also suggests the experience of playing the main character in P5 gave him “fear poops,” and describes himself a big fan of Persona 4.

You can check out Atlus USA PR Manager John Hardin chatting with Mobus in the video below:

The rest of the cast has provided voices for a number of iDigi favorites, including Sailor Moon Crystal, Kill la Kill, Yuki Yuna Is A Hero, Fallout 4, King’s Quest, Fairy Tail, the Phoenix Wright games, League of Legends, Sword Art Online, Puella Magi Madoka Magica and Final Fantasy XV.

What do you think of the English cast of Persona 5? Are you familiar with the voice actors from other games, shows or movies? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
