Publisher THQ Nordic and developer Rainbow Studios have just announced that they will be releasing the racing sim title MX vs. ATV All Out for the Nintendo Switch on September 1. The game first came out for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam in March of 2018.

MX vs. ATV All Out is the sixth installment in the MX vs. ATV franchise, which started with MX vs. ATV Unleashed for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PC back in 2005. In MX vs. ATV All Out, players will be able to choose from bikes, ATVs, and UTVs. They can either choose to set their best personal times in multiple game modes (Supercross, Nationals, Opencross, Waypoint, Tag, and more), practice and master death-defying stunts and tricks across massive open worlds, or go out and compete against other players in various head to head game modes. The brand-new Freestyle mode allows players to win with style points and crazy stunts, or in the titular All Out mode players can perform tricks with the best players online. Finally, players are also able to upgrade, tune, and customize their bikes and ATVs with performance parts to help them get an edge on their rivals, both performance and aesthetics wise.

So, what should players expect from the upcoming MX vs. ATV All Out for the Nintendo Switch? According to THQ Nordic and Rainbow Studios, split-screen will still be supported for the console’s docked mode. The only downside with playing on the Nintendo Switch is the game’s multiplayer support will be downgraded from 16 to 8-person lobbies.

Review-wise, it is undeniable that MX vs. ATV All Out definitely has room for lots of improvements. With more than two years since its release, All Out is currently sitting at a Mixed Rating on its Steam page, with a 42 Metascore and a 4.1 User Score on Metacritic. Most detractors cite its clunky controls and outdated visuals as its main downfall, with most critics not being able to help but compare it to its much more advanced genre colleagues. For those who still want a piece of nostalgia, All Out currently is 67% off on Steam.

MX vs. ATV All Out will launch for the Nintendo Switch on September 1.
