Cyberstep has just announced that they will be releasing a new and improved version of their discontinued free-to-play action MMORPG CosmicBreak. Titled CosmicBreak Universal, the updated international version will include revamped features, modern graphics, a game balance overhaul, and support for English, Japanese, and Traditional Chinese language options. CosmicBreak Universal is expected to launch for the PC via Steam before the end of 2020.

CosmicBreak is an action MMORPG wherein players can create, control, customize, and battle with their very own robot against other players. Originally released in 2008, CosmicBreak enjoyed a consistent and loyal fanbase over the past decade. However, due to the game’s loyal fanbase which created a considerable skill, knowledge, and resource gap between the CosmicBreak veterans and newcomers, Cyberstep came to the decision to discontinue the game starting on August 27 and reboot it entirely with CosmicBreak Universal.

CosmicBreak Universal is described as a “a remastered international service made for the Steam platform that keeps the core elements of what made the original CosmicBreak unique intact, while incorporating a slew of changes that could not be implemented in the original title.” CosmicBreak Universal's launch on Steam, plus its support for multiple languages, will also mean that more players will be reached all over the world. There would also be additional improvements that are game-specific such as “simplification of status ailments, and individual adjustments to weapons and more.” The publisher believes that this will cater to a much larger player audience. Lastly, numerous in-game models of humanoids will be refined and updated to better represent a look that is fitted with the current year.

What about the veterans coming from the original CosmicBreak? Cyberstep has already announced that existing CosmicBreak players will receive a Present Code as a special thank you for playing the game. The Present Code will contain in-game currency, parts and accessories exclusive to them, and several other additional in-game items. This can be retrieved once CosmicBreak Universal launches its in-game Present Code reception desk.

CosmicBreak Universal will launch for PC via Steam in 2020.
