The Dota 2 SEA region welcomes another familiar face, as Mineski hurdled the Qualifiers to earn a spot at the upcoming The International 2019. Despite being considered a top team in the region, it was not easy going for the team.

Mineski hasn't had a really good showing this DPC Season. It did not help that the team experienced a number of changes on its roster before settling on the current team.

The team is composed of Kam "Moon" Boon Seng, Damien "kpii" Chok, Ryan Jay "Bimbo" Qui, and Michael "ninjaboogie" Ross Jr. Rounding up the roster is Nikolay "Nikobaby" Nikolov who joind the team just last month.

During the Group Stage, Mineski finished in third place. Surprising the SEA Dota 2 community was Team Jinesbrus. A relative unknown team, Jinesbrus is composed mainly of Korean players and shot to the top of the Group Stage. The team is composed of former Mineski player Kim "Febby" Yong-mi, along with Nico "Gunnar" Lopez, who was part of TEAM TEAM, now known as beastcoast. Two other members are Lee "Forev" Sang-don and Park "March" Tae-won, both of J.Storm. The fifth is Thai player Nuengnara "23savage" Teeramahanon.

The two teams met in the first round of the Playoffs, with Mineski dominating the match. Mineski limited Jinesbrus to single digits in terms of team kills. In the second match, Mineski played against Team Adroit. While Adroit took the first game, Mineski won the next two and earned a sport at the Finals. Jinesbrus, meanwhile, defeated Team Amplify 2-0 after which it beat Adroit 2-1. This meant the Finals was a rematch between Mineski and Jinesbrus.

Jinesbrus won the first game, but it was back-and-forth for the remainder, with Mineski forcing a fifth game. To say that the fifth game was close is to understate it. Eventually Mineski grabbed the win to secure a spot to The International 2019.

Mineski joins two other SEA teams, Fnatic and TNC Predator, at TI9. Unlike Mineski, the two other teams got a direct invite to the tournament.
