There have been many different versions of Monopoly over the years, including city-specific, National Parks-based and even dog breed-focused variations of the real estate game. The latest variant will see the a new take on the classic board game featuring Mario, Peach and the rest of the Super Mario Bros. gang.

Called Monopoly Gamer Edition, this new twist on Monopoly features new rules and a Mario coat of paint. Instead of buying property, players will have to “complete levels,” coins replace dollars and each character comes with its own unique power-up move.

An example of a power-up given was for Peach. When she lands on a Super Star space, the person playing as her may collect rent right from the bank. The Nintendo site also mentions players can activate power-ups by rolling the power-up die, but doesn’t go into detail on how the die is incorporated into the game.

Monopoly Gamer Edition will be available this August for $24.99. The base game comes with Mario, Peach, Yoshi and Donkey Kong. Because it’s video game-themed, Hasbro decided to get into the spirit of things by making board game DLC. Extra character packs, with characters like Wario, Boo, Luigi and more available separately for an extra $2.99 each.

A special Collector’s Edition of Monopoly Gamer Edition is also available right now at select GameStop stores. This version includes an extra Bowser character. The Collector’s Edition will also be available at other retailers later in the year.

“The Monopoly brand has been a staple in the gaming aisle for more than 80 years, and we’re excited to give Mario, Yoshi and other characters the chance to ‘Pass GO’ and bring their powers to life in Monopoly Gamer Edition game,” said Tom Prata, Nintendo of America’s senior vice president of strategic initiatives, in a press statement. “This collaboration is the latest example of Nintendo’s efforts to give fans a variety of fun and surprising ways to interact with their favorite Super Mario characters.”
