Week 15 of the NFL is upon us and we are at the tipping point for many NFL franchises as the regular season rapidly comes to an end. Teams like the New York Giants and the Seattle Seahawks are preparing for a possible run in the playoffs while other teams like the Los Angeles Ram (who just fired their coach) and the Cleveland Browns (enough said) are just trying to make it to the end of the season.

The team at Madden NFL 17 released their latest roster update and this week we see a star cornerback continue his season-long resurgence and a safety making the best of another opportunity in the NFL. For the full list of the ratings changes this week, check out the Madden NFL Player Ratings page.

Janoris Jenkins, CB, New York Giants (2 points to 89 Overall)

Jenkins was a big free agent signing for the Giants, who had the league’s worst defense last season. Jenkins is leading a defensive resurgence for the Giants and added to his Giants legacy by shutting down Dez Bryant of the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night.

Jenkins is having one of the best seasons of his career and his Madden ratings reflect the season he is having. Jenkins’ man coverage, zone coverage and press rating all saw increases in this week's roster update. Janoris Jenkins is the number one NFL cornerback, so if you are lucky enough to pick him in Madden Ultimate Team, he is the impact player that could improve your defense immensely.

Quintin Demps, SS, Houston Texans (up 3 points to 83 Overall)

Demps is the true definition of a NFL journeyman. He has played with four teams and even played a year with the Hartford Colonials of the now-defunct United Football League. Demps is in his second stint with the Houston Texans and he is making the most of his second chance with the organization. Demps has 42 tackles and three interceptions for the Texans, whose defense is among one of the best in the National Football League.

In regards to Madden, Demps not only saw his overall rating increase, but his block shedding (up two), man coverage (up three) and zone coverage (up three) all went up. The biggest category increase was in play recognition, which moved to 83, making Demps somewhat valuable as a second string strong safety for a Madden Ultimate Team. Demps is not at the elite must-start level as of yet, but he is worth giving some looks to if you pick up his card at any point.

Robby Anderson, WR, New York Jets (up 5 points to 74 Overall)

The one advantage to the Jets having a down season is that the last part of the season will be used as evaluation time for younger players like Anderson . The undrafted receiver from Temple is making the best of the spotlight with New York as he has 34 catches with 464 yards and a touchdown. The injury to starting receiver Eric Decker gave Anderson a shot and Anderson has stepped up.

Anderson saw his catching rating increased to 82, catch in traffic to 78 and his release raring to 76. At this point of the season, it seems that Anderson may have won a job with the Jets for next season, but as a starting wide receiver, Anderson may not be the answer for your Ultimate Team. As a slot receiver or even a returner, Anderson does have some upside.
