Get ready to earn some ELO, Riven mains of the internet, League of Legends season seven is about to begin.

League Of Legends season seven will start on Dec. 6. Looks like they pushed the date back, now it's Dec. 7 when Patch 6.24 drops.

If you aren’t accustomed to League’s unique ranking system, here’s a quick briefer: Every year brings a new season, resetting your rank from the prior season. If you got Bronze in season six, you now have a chance to go straight into Silver. You play 10 placement matches at the start of the season and then Riot’s magic sorting hat figures out where you belong.

The game does take into account where you were last season, so don’t expect to end up in Platinum if you were Bronze in season six. Even if you go 10-0 in your placement matches, you’ll still only end up somewhere in Silver.

At the end of a season, you get rewards depending on what rank you get. Bronze and Silver gets an icon, Gold and above gets a Victorious skin.

Riot hasn’t said what time the actual season seven patch will go live, so this is just a guess. Riot usually releases patches around 2 to 5 p.m. EST, so keep refreshing your client around that time. I’d also recommend holding off jumping into ranked for at least a few weeks after it goes live. Wait for the kids and crazies to finish their placements before they ruin yours.
