Justice League: BTW The Flash Is Scared Of Bugs & Tall People

Ben Affleck’s Batman doesn’t have a lighthearted bone in his body, but thankfully a new clip that features The Flash confirms the odd pairing between Bruce Wayne and Barry Allen will provide just the right amount of comedic relief in a world without Superman and little hope for humanity.

Warner Bros. released a slew of new clips, maybe even a little too many. The promotions seem to follow the path of Spider-Man: Homecoming, where just about every climactic moment in the film was teased in dozens of TV spots, social media teasers and trailers. Anyway, the new Justice League clips reveal a bunch of interactions — Batman recruiting Aquaman, Commissioner Gordon meeting the Justice League, Wonder Woman just being Wonder Woman and the dialogue between Batman and The Flash could not be more perfect.

“Yeah so, uh, here’s the thing...see I’m afraid of bugs and guns and obnoxiously tall people and uhm, I can’t be here. It’s really cool you guys seem ready to do battle and stuff, but full transparency, I’ve never done battle. I’ve just pushed some people and run away.”

All Batman had to say to a trembling youngster is, “Save one.” You suck at this, Bruce. Watch the clip, along with the six others, below.

In addition to Barry Allen’s bug-phobia, we also get our first solid look at Steppenwolf, the big bad of the film. He’s terrifying, just like we saw in the Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice post credits scene with Lex Luthor. Except this time it’s worse because Wonder Woman appears to be no match for the big bad and Barry Allen is scared shitless of “doing battle.” Thankfully, Aquaman comes through and shoos the big bad away for at least a few minutes.

Justice League arrives in theaters Nov. 17.
