In a very lighthearted and good-natured show of joking around with the audience, Behaviour Interactive, developer and publisher of asymmetrical horror game Dead by Daylight, has officially released a spinoff. Hooked on You: A Dead by Daylight Dating Sim is exactly what the title implies: a dating sim that focuses on the characters, more specifically, the Killers of Dead by Daylight, on a sunny beach where both sexual and horror tension are in the air. Hooked on You: A Dead by Daylight Dating Sim lets you flirt precariously with four Killers from Dead by Daylight, including the Trapper, the Wraith, the Huntress, and the Spirit. These four have vastly different personalities and needs, which you must uncover for yourself if you really want that good visual novel ending. The game is set on a beach of a strange island, where your character finds themselves with amnesia and without companions – except for the four deadly Killers playing volleyball near the waters.
Like any regular visual novel, you must eagerly listen to these Killers and find out the rhythms to their drums as you flirt, woo, and banter your way into their hearts. However, unlike most visual novels, be careful. While these Killers can certainly be cute and lovable, they are also supernatural killers that can viciously eviscerate you and consume your soul.
Hooked on You: A Dead by Daylight Dating Sim also features numerous romantic locations within the island where you and your Killer of choice can bond to your hearts’ content. The visual novel also features surprising cameos from other characters within the Dead by Daylight universe, although it’s also a shame that they aren’t romanceable, especially if you’re really looking forward to spending a romantic evening with Ghostface or Pyramid Head.
Each of the four Killers can have three different endings based on your choices throughout the game, from true love and platonic friendship to bitter loathing. In the case of loathing, you can also consider it game over, as they would probably kill you if it does end there.
