Catch the golden snitch. Portkey Games

The wizarding world is on a hot streak! There's news that a Harry Potter TV show may be in the works while the action RPG Hogwarts Legacy has reached success commercially and critically. Another game is in the works with Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, which is an online multiplayer game which features the most iconic magical sport in the Harry Potter universe.

While not much has really been revealed, we do know that sign-ups are now being accepted for those interested to join the playtests. If you're interested, you can register here but take note that registration doesn't guarantee an entry to playtests.

Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is being published by Warner Bros. Games under the Portkey Games label. This upcoming title apparently has been in development for some time now by Unbroken Studios.

So, what can fans expect from this game? It’s going to be a complete and standalone Quidditch experience, planned to engage players in Quidditch along with other broomstick adventures. Fans can enjoy the game with friends in a competitive and multiplayer setting.

As not to heighten the expectation, don't anticipate the game as a direct adaptation of the books and films. However, fans can be assured that it remains rooted in the magical universe of the Wizarding World. It's pretty much saying that it offers fans a new experience while remaining true to the original vision of J.K. Rowling, who has been supportive of Portkey Games and entrusted the design and creation of titles to WB Games.

Here are other details that we know so far:

  • No release date has been set.
  • It's expected to be available on PC and consoles. This has yet to be confirmed.
  • Players can create and customize their own Quidditch Champions.
  • Offers a competitive and multiplayer experience which needs an internet connection to play.
  • Can be played solo or with a team.
