‘The Get Down’ Part 2 Release Date: Watch The Part 1 Post-Credits Teaser

“Where there is ruin, there is hope for a treasure”-- a familiar phrase you saw spelled out in graffiti on the side of a Bronx subway car if you’ve watched The Get Down Part 1. It’s also what some of The Get Down reviewers are hoping Baz Luhrmann can pull off in The Get Down Season 2 (or in true musical fashion, Part 2).

Love it or hate it, The Get Down is the first of its kind. Never before has there been a series that so vividly captures life in the South Bronx from a musical and historical perspective. With a love story leading the plot, Luhrmann's six-episode Part 1 felt like home to hip hop fans familiar with the subtleties of how Grandmaster Flash and Nas changed music forever. The bad news? We won’t get more until 2017. Check out the The Get Down Part 2 teaser here.

The Get Down has been an ongoing project for Netflix for more than two and a half years. The series ran into numerous production issues, changing showrunners and writers multiple times. With costs exceeding $7.5 million an episode (per Variety), it’s unclear what the show’s fate is for Season 2, or if another season following Part 2 was part of the plan in the first place.

In the Part 1 finale, both Mylene and Zeke’s careers are about to pop off. Will this cause tension in their relationship in Part 2? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
