Gamescom is happening throughout the week, and as such gamers can expect a ton of new announcements surrounding highly anticipated titles, as well as new releases from publishers and developers. Nothing beats the excitement surrounding fresh news on upcoming titles, and these are at the center of the five-day major gaming event at the Koelmnesse in Germany. Publisher THQ Nordic has a lot of titles to reveal for players across all genres in Gamescom 2019, and some of them are surprise announcements made during the event itself. Besides the big titles like Biomutant, Darksiders Genesis and SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated, THQ Nordic also officially announced DCL: The Game, the official video game of the Drone Champions League. Developed by Climax Studios, it will be set for a release on consoles and PC, with a release window of Winter 2019 to early 2020. Drone Champions League, for those unfamiliar, is the world’s premier league for Drone racing, a one-of-a-kind racing experience featuring fast-paced drone flying in tight corners. The trailer shows off some gameplay for DCL: The Game, and it looks like it is already running pretty smoothly. The trailer also features some testimonials from some of the pilots for DCL, and a lot of them agree that DCL: The Game is shaping up to be one of the best drone simulators on the market.
DCL: The Game will feature over 30 spectacular tracks to choose from, and will also include an online multiplayer mode to race with other players from around the world. It will have four distinct flight modes: arcade mode, GPS mode, angle mode and Acro mode, each coming with various degrees of difficulty for players across all expertise levels.
DCL: The Game will be released for the PS4, Xbox One and PC in Winter 2019 to 2020.
