Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.4 Arriving Late May

The next update for Final Fantasy XIV is arriving in late May 2023. Patch 6.4 is going to introduce new additions like the continuation of the main scenario questline and the conclusion of the Pandæmonium raid series.

  • New Main Scenario Quests
    • The next chapter in the story of the Warrior of Light.
  • New Raid Pandæmonium: Anabaseios
    • The final installment of the Pandæmonium raid series.
  • New Dungeon
    • New challenges await everyone in The Aetherfont.
  • New Trials - The Voidcast Dais
    • A challenging new battle in both Normal and Extreme difficulties.
  • New Unreal Trial
    • Containment Bay Z1T9 (Unreal)
  • New Side Story Quests
    • Tataru’s Grand Endeavor continues.
  • Duty Support System Update
    • Support for a number of Stormblood main scenario dungeons added. This means they can be completed alongside a party of NPC allies.
  • Ocean Fishing Update
    • Explore the new route towards Kugane.
  • Island Sanctuary Updates
    • Quality-of-life improvements including the ability to place outdoor housing furniture, new ranks, crops, and animals, to name a few.
  • Player Versus Player Updates
    • Crystalline Conflict
      • PvP Series 4 begins alongside Season 7 of Crystalline Conflict.
    • Frontline
      • Adjustments for rules of The Fields of Glory (Shatter) and the inclusion of a new UI element, displaying the match time and score.

Patch 6.45

Of course, once Patch 6.4 is live, it means that Patch 6.45 is just around the corner. For this patch, here's what players can expect:

  • Blue Mage Update
    • Level cap raised to 80.
    • New blue mage-exclusive gear.
    • New enemies to challenge.
  • New Variant & Criterion Dungeon – Mount Rokkon
    • Three levels of difficulty:
      • Normal.
      • Criterion.
      • Criterion (Savage).
  • Somehow Further Hildibrand Adventures
  • Weapon Enhancement Quests - Manderville Weapons
  • Tool Enhancement Quests - Splendorous Tools

Hatching Tide Event

While waiting for the new patch, players can continue to enjoy the Hatching Tide in-game event until April 10. Here are the limited-time quests and rewards:

  • A set of Tonberry-themed gear.
  • The Frighten emote.
  • Hippity-hoppity Hatching-tide Advertisement furnishing.
  • Pa-Paya Demastered Orchestrion roll.

Stormblood Expansion

Square Enix also announced that eligible players in select regions who own or have bought the Final Fantasy XIV Online Starter Edition (A Realm Reborn) may now add the Stormblood expansion to their account for free. This offer is valid until May 8.

Stormblood continues the critically acclaimed story from Heavensward and takes players to new faraway locales while introducing them to new playable jobs.

Final Fantasy XIV is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
