If you’re excited to once again experience the thrill of the chase, then you’re in luck as Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered is now available. The game, for the first time, features cross-platform asynchronous multiplayer competition. That’s not all as the groundbreaking Autolog feature is making a return as well. This Autolog feature allows players to be able to seamlessly connect, compare, and compete with friends.

It’s not just the base game, since the remastered version of Need for Speed Hot Pursuit also offers all the previously-released DLC. This means at least 30 challenges and six additional hours of gameplay.

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered features Seacrest County and its winding roads while delivering action from both sides of the law. That means players can use the defensive maneuvers of an elite racer or bust suspects using supercharged cop interceptors and tactical weaponry.

In multiplayer mode, players have the chance to play solo or go against friends in order to earn Bounty as well as unlock new cars, weapons, and even equipment.

Fans are sure to love the nostalgic trip with modes like Lamborghini Untamed and Armed and Dangerous. There’s also something for new players since Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered includes brand new achievements, car colors, and reduced hard stops. There’s even an updated photo mode. That said, players, both old and new, get to take part in various quality of life updates that result in a gameplay experience that’s truly well-rounded.

In a statement, Criterion Games General Manager Matt Webster shared that games are supposed to be fun when it comes to playing with friends. Bringing back Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, he added, “has been a real joy for us to remaster, as we get to revisit compelling concepts built on older tech and recreate them with fresh talent with modern tech and new perspectives.” The remastered version offers more interactions since players can both connect and compete regardless of platform. Webster went on to say that “it’s going to be a ton of fun seeing how much that heightens the competition from our fans and new players alike.”

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered is already available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The version for the Nintendo Switch is set to be launched on November 13. Hot Pursuit Remastered is offered for $39.99 on PS4, Xbox One, and the Switch. The PC version is available on Steam and Origin for $29.99.
