Diablo IV is finally here and it is officially Blizzard's fastest-selling game of all time. It has the highest pre-launch unit sales not only on PC but also on consoles. Early access for the game started June 1 and it has been played for 93 million hours since then.
Among many of its major features, Diablo IV supports cross-platform play and cross-progression on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The game also offers up to four-player co-op and two-player couch co-op on consoles.
In a statement, Diablo General Manager Rod Fergusson shared that they're proud to offer everyone what could be the richest story ever told for a Diablo game. He added that since it was first announced in 2019, the support of the fans drove the team to release the game.
Blizzard President Mike Ybarra revealed that the game's release is a realization of a vision to come up with legendary experiences for everyone to share. He went on to say that whether you're new or a veteran of the series, everyone is welcome to the global launch of Diablo IV.
