Baldur's Gate 3 is Game of the Year at the 27th D.I.C.E. Awards

Another win for Larian. D.I.C.E. Awards

Once again Larian Studios is adding another feather in its caps with its recent wins at the 27th D.I.C.E. Awards. Baldur's Gate 3 took home the crown as Game of the Year. It bested other titles that include Alan Wake 2, COCOON, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

However, that's not the only trophy that the studio is bringing home. That's because Baldur's Gate 3 also won in four other categories which are:

  • Outstanding Achievement in Story
  • Outstanding Achievement in Game Design
  • Outstanding Achievement in Game Direction
  • Role-Playing Game of the Year.

There's no doubt that this is truly an impressive achievement for Larian Studios. Even with five wins though, it actually wasn't Baldur's Gate 3 that took home the most awards. That honor goes to Marvel's Spider-Man 2, which was nominated in nine categories. Despite not winning Game of the Year, the web-slinger is bringing with him the Action Game of the Year award along with:

  • Outstanding Achievement in Animation
  • Outstanding Achievement in Character - Miles Morales
  • Outstanding Achievement in Original Music Composition
  • Outstanding Achievement in Audio Design
  • Outstanding Technical Achievement

Only these two games won multiple awards. The other winners were:

  • Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction: Alan Wake 2
  • Outstanding Achievement for an Independent Game: COCOON
  • Immersive Reality Technical Achievement: Horizon: Call of the Mountain
  • Immersive Reality Game of the Year: Asgard's Wrath 2
  • Online Game of the Year: Diablo IV
  • Strategy Game of the Year: Dune: Spice Wars
  • Racing Game of the Year: Forza Motorsport
  • Sports Game of the Year: MLB The Show 23
  • Fighting Game of the Year: Street Fight 6
  • Family Game of the Year: Super Mario Bros. Wonder
  • Adventure Game of the Year: The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
  • Mobile Game of the Year: WHAT THE CAR?
