Facebook is the most downloaded app.

Run to the top. Kiloo

App Annie released a report that took a look at the top Apps and Games of the 2010s. According to App Annie's Adithya Venkatraman, mobile is considered to be the at the heart of many major changes, particularly in consumer behavior, for the past decade. The report tracks the top apps not only in terms of downloads worldwide, but also consumer spending.

So what's surprising about the results? Let's start with the most downloaded game. According to the report, the honor of being the most downloaded game of the decade goes to Subway Surfers. That's right, this endless runner has players take the role of a young graffiti artist who needs to run and not get caught by an inspector and his dog. The report revealed that this may have been helped by the fact that the game has a strong following in India, which accounted for 15% of all the downloads.

Candy Crush Saga came in second with another endless runner, Temple Run 2, getting third place. Rounding out of the top five are My Talking Tom and Clash of Clans.

For those familiar with the game, it isn't a surprise to learn that Clash of Clans took the top spot in terms of All-Time Consumer Spend. Candy Crush also made the top 10 along with Fate/Grand Order and Pokémon Go.

The report from App Annie isn't entirely focused on games, as it also tracked the same results, but for apps. For the most downloaded apps of the 2010s, the top four all belong to Facebook. That's right. From number 1 to 4, the top downloaded apps are Facebook, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp Messenger, and Instagram. Two Chinese-made apps also made it to the list, which are TikTok and UC Browser. The other apps in the top 10 are Snapchat, Skype, YouTube, and Twitter.

For All-Time Consumer Spend, only YouTube from the top downloaded list made it to this one. The top spot, meanwhile, goes to Netflix, followed by Tinder. Pandora Music managed to snag third pace with HBO Now getting in at ninth.

What do you think about the results? Have you downloaded any of these apps and games? Did you spend any money on them? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
