Details about American Horror Story Season 6 remain elusive as actor Finn Wittrock reveals he is not yet confirmed as a cast member for the upcoming anthology. Wittrock, who starred in Seasons 4 and 5 of AHS recently told The Wrap many beloved characters may not return for the new installment, which likely won’t start until October. “I have heard it is going to be a little tighter — there were so many story lines in the last one and it was so big and epic, I have a feeling it might be a little more claustrophobic. A smaller cast,”he said to the entertainment publication.

Very little is known about the storyline of American Horror Story Season 6 and Wittrock told The Wrap the show’s creators and producers are have not revealed much, even to the actors,. The few AHS actors currently confirmed to appear in Season 6 include Lady Gaga, Angela Bassett, Denis O’Hare and Evan Peters, and these actors also claim to not have much knowledge about their roles.

Wittrock told The Wrap he wants to be a part of American Horror Story Season 6, but has other projects in the works that could cause scheduling conflicts. He told the publication that he and the showrunners have discussed him being featured in a few episodes, but no details have been solidified.

Over five seasons, American Horror Story has built an exceptionally large cast. Executive Producer Ryan Murphy revealed in March that Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Matt Bomer, Wes Bentley, Cheyenne Jackson and Finn Wittrock had been invited back for the upcoming season.

Web publication Yibada notes that actress Connie Britton, who starred in Season 1 of American Horror Story and was nominated for an Emmy for her role as Vivien Harmon, could possibly return to the anthology for Season 6 now that her show Nashville has been cancelled. However, this is merely a suggestion as this point.

It will be interesting to see how American Horror Story fares, if it does feature a smaller cast, considering the installment is expected to explore two themes within one season. Murphy has divulged that the season may explore the element of children in horror. iDigitalTimes has suggested the season could feature two themes by introducing aspects like time travel, awake and dream states, reincarnation or multiple personalities, among others.

Filming for American Horror Story will likely begin in mid-Summer, after which details about the coming season should become clearer.
