Good news for those excited about the upcoming release of Like a Dragon: Ishin! Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and SEGA revealed that wrestling icon Kenny Omega will cameo in the game. Kenny is former World Champion and now Executive Vice President of AEW.

He’s not the only one with a cameo, because actor Rahul Kohli, known for his roles in iZombie, Midnight Mass, and The Haunting of Bly Manor, is doing the same thing.

Both Kenny Omega and Rahul Kohli are joining the game as samurai soldiers of Ryoma, in the form of Trooper Cards. This is a combat feature that when activated real-time in battle, gives temporary but truly devastating power-ups and special abilities.

Talking about the cameo, Kenny Omega shared that he’s been a long-time fan of the Like a Dragon series. He added that to be “forever immortalized” in the game is truly surreal. He went on to say that he’s excited for his Trooper Card and believes players will love the artwork as well as attack animation.

Meanwhile, Rahul Kohli revealed that he’s a huge fan of games made by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio. He said that when he was asked to be a guest, it was truly an honor. Kohli said further that he’s excited, albeit a little nervous, on being a small part in the journey of Ryoma.

For Chief Producer Hiroyuki Sakamoto, designing Trooper Cards for the two was a fun and fulfilling experience. He added that they loved the results and believe that players will feel the same.

Kenny Omega and Rahul Kohli are two of six special guests that will be felt in the game with unique abilities. The other guests are set to be revealed on the official Twitter account of Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio in the coming days. All the special guest Trooper Cards are going to be available as free downloadable content beginning early access on February 17.

Like a Dragon: Ishin! is set in 1860s Kyo where the fight for justice of a solemn samurai will change the course of history in Japan forever. The game launches worldwide February 21 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Players who pre-ordered the Digital Deluxe Edition can start playing via early access on February 17.
