The Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links mobile game goes live on iOS and Android devices come April in Japan. With the release date rapidly approaching, Konami has begun dropping videos and trailers for its upcoming mobile offering.

In the first Duel Links gameplay footage, we see a common duel between Joey and Kaiba as the two square off using cards both they are known for using with some updated strategy.

Take a look at the first gameplay footage of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links below:

Fans of the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG and anime may have noticed that the lifepoints of Duel Links will begin at 4000, instead of the traditional 8000.

Even more jarring, each duelist begins with only four cards instead of five. And to make Duel Links even more unique, the game only appear to support three monsters and spell/trap cards on each side of the field at a time. These changes seem to encourage a faster style of dueling for the casual player.

The gameplay trailer features the original voice actors from the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime, giving mobile dueling an extra flair. It also boasts some neat visuals, especially when Kaiba summoned his ace monster, the Blue Eyes White Dragon.

It was previously revealed via the official Duel Links website that there multiple game modes will incorporate story elements along with online play.

In Duel World Mode, you’ll have your choice of Yami Yugi, Kaiba, Mai Valentine and Joey but other characters like Mako Tsunami, Weevil Underwood and others were teased, and can likely be unlocked as you progress through the various missions. You can level these characters and obtain new cards to complete missions.

The online mode will allow players take on others from around the world in real-time. Players can also practice against duelists they have previously faced and even watch replays.
