'Watch Dogs 2' DLC Location Leaked? New Patch Hints At A New City To Explore

A patch for Watch Dogs 2 has added a few seconds of dialogue onto the ending cutscene. This dialogue, mixed with coordinates found in the cutscene, may point to either the location of a future Watch Dogs 2 DLC, or could reveal the location of Watch Dogs 3.

The video above, posted by YouTube user Frenzy, shows the closing cutscene, along with the new content. Spoiler warnings, obviously, as this is the final moments of Watch Dogs 2. The relevant conversation starts at around 2:16 in the video.

The dialogue goes as follows:

Unnamed person 1: “How much of this is hyperbole? Has it really gone global?”

Unnamed person 2: “There are new DedSec cells popping up everywhere. The Middle East, South America, Europe. And not just them… we can’t even keep up with all the new hacktivist groups.

UP1: “Alright. Make the call.”

UP2: “You Sure?”

UP1: “Do it.”

The top of the dialogue box has coordinates, that when punched into Google Maps, points to the Brixton district of south London. This would be a perfect location for a Watch Dogs game given the already heightened levels of surveillance and monitoring that goes on in the city right now.

The real question is: What do these clues point to? Logically, this is for Watch Dogs 3 or some kind of Watch Dogs 2 stand-alone expansion. DLC for Watch Dogs 2 seems like it is set to take place in the San Francisco Bay area. It also wouldn’t really make much sense to take the protagonists from Watch Dogs 2 and ship them overseas.

Ubisoft could be making a stand-alone Watch Dogs 2 expansion, like what the company did with Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. This would allow for a new location, but seems like it would be a lot of work for an expansion. The smart money is that this is pointing towards Watch Dogs 3.

What’s curious is how Ubisoft is supporting the Watch Dogs franchise. In a press release about the company’s third quarter sales, Ubisoft noted that the Watch Dogs 2 launch was “not as dynamic as expected,” but the game now has positive momentum. This could mean there is still faith in the franchise, with more games coming.

So what do you think? Is this part of some Watch Dogs 2 DLC? Is this clue pointing to something different altogether? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
