Orisa shouldn't be a problem... for a week.
Orisa shouldn't be a problem... for a week. Blizzard

Orisa, Overwatch’s newest omnic, will be disabled in Competitive Play for the first week of her existence on the live servers. Thank you, Blizzard-based gods for such a nice present, the thought of losing more Skill Rating points because a kid in Kentucky wants to try the “big robot lady” for the first time on my way to Platinum makes my Torbjorn turret shrivel.

Players will have plenty of chances to practice using Orisa in the meantime: she will be available in Quick Play, Arcade and Play vs. A.I. Players need a chance to get used to this hero before bringing her directly into the chaos that is a ranked game. I wish more game companies had this mindset, banning new playable characters for the first few days they are around saves so much heartbreak in-game.

Whenever a new champion would come out in League Of Legends , I’d have to either ban them or hope they get banned, so one of my teammates doesn’t cripple our chances of winning. It’s not that I don’t think you are good on the new tank that appeared on the servers a few hours ago, I just don’t think you have the proper practice needed to play a proper game. I then had to hope someone wouldn’t flame me or rage quit when I banned the new champion “they only queued up to play.”

How do you feel about this news? Should Orisa be playable everywhere at launch? Tell us in the comments.

Overwatch doesn't care if you've ever tried an FPS before, it holds your hands and makes you feel okay while you shoot rocket launchers, icicles and sound waves.
