'No Man's Sky' Update Rumors: Redditor Discovers Dune Buggy For Surface Exploration

Is a buggy coming to No Man's Sky? Redditer eegandj shared an alleged game file in No Man's Sky that was simply labeled "BUGGY." The latest leak follows the release of the games first DLC, the 'Foundation Update,' this week. The new update features base-building, an interstellar freighter, a farming system and more. Fans were elated to learn about the update, especially after months of radio silence from Hello Games caused a great deal of unease.

The extended period No Man's Sky fans had to endure without any communication from the studio only makes the latest rumor even more exciting. What's more, eegandj also stumbled upon an early rendering of what the buggy in No Man's Sky may look like:

Similar to the NASA rovers in real life, No Man's Sky's buggy features big knobby tires and a compact, skeletal design – just the bare essentials necessary for planetary exploration. Given the shift in gameplay towards base building and planet colonization, then it only makes sense to create a mode of transport dedicated to a planet's surface.

It isn't clear when the next No Man's Sky update will release or if it will even give us the new Buggy, but thanks to PC mods, we get to see a preview of the Buggy on YouTube. Check it out below:
