After the Wal-Mart snafu that had the SNES Classic console up for pre-order before it was supposed to -- resulting in some customers losing their pre-orders -- Nintendo has announced that the novelty item will be up for pre-order in late August.

In a Facebook post on the official Nintendo page, the company announced that the mini Super Nintendo system will be available for pre-order later this month and that there will be a “significant” amount of units available.

Here’s the full text.

“We appreciate the incredible anticipation that exists for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition system, and can confirm that it will be made available for pre-order by various retailers late this month.

A significant amount of additional systems will be shipped to stores for launch day, and throughout the balance of the calendar year.”

Whether there will be enough units to meet the high demand that arose when the NES Classic was released last year is still unclear, but Nintendo’s need to meet demand for the Switch may not bode well for those looking for the retro console this holiday season.

The SNES Classic Edition console comes with 21 pre-installed classics from the Super Nintendo era of gaming along with two SNES controllers and an HDMI cable to see those 16-bit graphics in high definition.

The 21 aforementioned titles include:

Contra III: The Alien Wars

Donkey Kong Country

EarthBound

Final Fantasy III

F-ZERO

Kirby Super Star

Kirby’s Dream Course

The Legend of Zelda : A Link to the Past

Mega Man ® X

Secret of Mana

Star Fox

Star Fox 2

Street Fighter ® II Turbo: Hyper Fighting

Super Castlevania IV

Super Ghouls ’n Ghosts ®

Super Mario Kart

Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars

Super Mario World

Super Metroid

Super Punch-Out!!

Yoshi’s Island

The SNES Classic Edition console will release on Sept. 29 for $79.99.
