The gang is back together in The Walking Dead Season 7, but who knows how long it’ll last this time.

Executive Producer Greg Nicotero explained to Entertainment Weekly the second half of the show will have more of Rick’s group working together. We saw many people leave Alexandria, some willing like Carol, others not so much.

“Listen, the first half, we’re watching our hero being ground into the dirt,” Nicotero said. “It’s never a comfortable situation to see your heroes reduced to subservience. The way that The Walking Dead works is we spend time lining up the chess pieces and setting the stage, and I would say the season 7 midseason premiere is going to feel very much like The Walking Dead that people have come to know and love in terms of the band is back together.

“We’ve seen Rick stand up, and we know now that he’s going to fight. Daryl is back with the group. They’ve taken as much s— from Negan as they are going to take, so it really feels very much like the seeds of war have been planted, and now they just need to figure out how to pull it off.

Yes, the group is back together, but that doesn’t mean much. We’ve seen the group split up multiple times during the show’s history. They always make their way back to each other. However, if you take Nicotero’s comments to mean we won’t lose any more characters this season, you’re so wrong.

We will definitely have another “major” death by the season finale. We have our spoilery theories, which you can read here if you’re interested. Don’t worry, Daryl won’t die just yet. If he does, it’ll be genuinely shocking, as he’s become the one person who cannot die. Daryl is not vital to the story like Rick is, so it’s surprising that he’s been able to survive for this long. He should’ve died when he found walker Merle.

Before you get mad at us, we are Team Daryl all the way. We want to see Daryl make it to the end, but let’s be real. He’s no Rick. Daryl isn’t the glue that holds the group together. Who do you think will die in The Walking Dead Season 7? Let us know in a comment below.
