Popular modders have already been tapped by Creative Assembly and Games Workshop to make sure there is content available right away for gamers to download. Additionally, everyone will be able to get in on the modding fun with the Assembly Kit that will be a free download on May 24 when Total War: Warhammer is released.

Two mods have already been announced for Total War: Warhammer. The Legendary Lord Start Position mod will customize the start positions so that Legendary Lords start in a different position from Race Leaders. There will also be the Regional Occupation Mod, which changes the settlement rules to enable each race to settle every region.

To get the hype out for Total War: Warhammer, the Dota 2 team at Valve has created a competition to create the best Warhammer -inspired treasure. This treasure will release on Sept. 1, and those who pre-ordered Total War: Warhammer will get one for free. It will be available for purchase for everyone else. Entries can be submitted and voted on in the Dota Workshop.

Total War: Warhammer will be released on May 24 through Steam for PC.
