Supercell Continues Trend Of Stealth Fixes After Major ‘Boom Beach’ Updates With Optional Patch Boom Beach

After every recent major update to either Clash of Clans or Boom Beach, Supercell has released an optional update just a handful of days later. This pattern has been consistent — past post-updates fixed things such as Android-specific installation issues. This time, the latest optional Boom Beach update fixed glitches including, “Prototype Defenses shaking too much when expiring” and “Troop Loadout switching causing the game to go out of sync.”

The Boom Beach June 2016 Update released a little over a week ago and brought with it the ability to save templates on loadout boats for troop formations, as well as a new support strategy troop called the Cryoneer. One of the issues included in the update is related to another new feature — Friendly Attacks, ported over from Clash of Clans. However, reports revealed that the new features are making the game unstable.

As redditors /u/tea-for-2 and /u/bill-smith wrote online, the “stealth fixes and unmentioned update items” may have caused two new bugs within the game: Zooka troop clumping and the Critter mine bug.

“This is a bug, but it won’t be fixed until the next update. The mines explode when they detect a moving unit in their area. We made minor pathfinding changes to the game when we added the Cryoneer,” Supercell Staff Member RLight wrote on the Boom Beach official forums. “These pathfinding changes affected how a ‘moving’ unit is detected. They will still set off mines, but they need to walk a few steps to set them off. This may not occur if they're dropped right on top of a building. Sorry Critters =”

For the most part, the general community sentiment seems to be appreciative of Supercell efforts, but players are losing patience at being kept in the dark regarding these behind-the-scenes changes from Supercell that are causing additional bugs.

If you’re happen to see any bugs while playing Boom Beach yourself, make sure to report it to Supercell so they can log what’s happening and fix the issues quicker.
