Star Citizen ’s new episode of Around The Verse is here, and it focuses on the latest developments of two ships from Musashi Industrial Starflight Concern. If you’re looking to buy a Prospector or Hull C, here’s what you need to know.

Starting with the $140 Prospector, the entry-level mining ship is in the final prep stages and will be fully available once alpha 3.0 is released to the public. True to its name, it’s a single-passenger ship designed for small mining expeditions. It has a retractable laser similar to the Orion we detailed Thursday, but its hardware isn’t big enough to crush an entire asteroid. Instead, this ship is ideal for scraping off surface rocks to determine if tracking down an Orion is worth your time.

The Prospector has a slew of cargo containers on its back and a metal panel aesthetic befitting of the MISC brand. Beyond mining, there’s enough room to house one bedroom, and a large front window makes the ship equally appropriate for exploration. If your goal is to tackle the Star Citizen universe as a lone wolf, the Prospector sounds like a solid ship choice.

If cargo transport is more your style, the $250 Hull C’s collapsible strut concept is pretty cool. The craft is essentially designed to fold in on itself and expand as it fills with cargo. Hull C is in the final modeling art stages, and since it was last seen, the Hull C model has grown in size. With that added girth, however, comes ineffectiveness in combat. If you invest in one of these, you should always plan on getting a powerful escort to protect you on your way to your destination.

To match the function of its main machinery, the Hull C has a multi-floor structure with personal quarters on top, an engine room in the back and a dedicated component space for monitoring shields. A large flat window also means explorers can take in some of the universe’s awesome sights. It will be quite some time before this ship and its variants are ready for flight, but we can’t wait to see how it all turns out.

Join us tomorrow for a recap of the final episode of Around The Verse anniversary week. The next topic of focus will be Drake ships.

Star Citizen is available in alpha for backers on PC.
