Star Citizen ’s latest episode of Around The Verse offers an update on three upcoming ships from the quantum travel experts at Roberts Space Industries. The 26-minute showcase reveals more about popular ships like the Constellation Phoenix, Orion, and Ursa Rover.

Starting with the Constellation Phoenix, the $350 party ship is officially in the white-box production phase and has undergone some pretty drastic changes since it was last seen. With the ship’s emphasis on luxury, the cargo bay area now has a proper floor accented by the finest wood trim, recessed lighting and a fully retractable hot tub that opens at the press of a button. The airlocks on the side are gone, the entire craft has been updated to support Item 2.0 and the cabin is bigger and more spacious than ever before. If these screenshots are any indication, the Phoenix looks like a pretty great place to hang out.

Explorers in search of something more purposeful might want to check out the Orion. This $325 beast is one of the biggest ships in the Star Citizen universe, and its main function is to be the ultimate endgame mining machine. Its massive laser eats through asteroids and pulls precious materials into its hull. The ship is fully programmable to search for specific resources, and the machinery will even do the sorting for you.

It is officially white-box complete and has been reworked to offer more room for crew members. Its design is focused around the mining funnel in the center, but, if you want to relax, spacious personal quarters and other rooms can be found off to the sides.

Last but not least, the $50 Ursa Rover is nearly feature complete and is currently in testing for 3.0 evocati members. The smaller terrestrial craft now has a super-low ceiling that makes it easier to fit inside the bays of larger Constellation ships. As seen below, the design intent is to offer a comfortable ‘90s charm with enough room for six explorers to roam across short travel distances. There’s a turret in the back in case situations get a little hairy, but this variant is not meant for large-scale combat. You can see a full trailer for the Rover around the 23-minute mark of the episode.

Those are all the updates from last night’s anniversary content, but a final Around The Verse focused on miscellaneous ship developments is expected to post over the next handful of hours.

Star Citizen is in alpha for Kickstarter backers on PC.
