Many video games are prepping for Halloween right now via in-game events and spooky DLC. The Sims 4 appears to be going a different path, a cold one at that. The game is all set to release its 10th expansion pack with Snowy Escape. It’s going to be arriving for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on November 13.

This upcoming expansion pack introduces the world of Mt. Komorebi along with different activities for Sims to enjoy. Today we take a closer look at what Snowy Escape has to offer.

One interesting thing about this new expansion pack is that it’s going to be the first to introduce not only residential homes, but also rental lots for vacationers. There’s also going to be three new primary neighborhoods that Sims can enjoy. In addition, there’s 130 new Create a Sim items that players can use to create different looks to make sure that their Sims are not only warm, but also are stylish.

Did we mention that this new expansion pack is Japanese-inspired? Be prepared to experience traditional and modern furniture options and design your very own sanctuary through unique architectural styles as well as pieces that include shoji doors, windows and screens, tatami mats, and paper lanterns. Players even get the chance to bring in those additional extra touches in order to come up with their very own oasis, like a rock garden beneath the shade of Japanese maple trees or koi for decorative fountains.

Mt. Komorebi is also offering a lot of fun in the snow with winter sports like skiing, snowboarding, and sledding. Sims that think they are brave enough can test their rock climbing skills by conquering the mountain’s peak. Then again, there are also the hiking trails that offer those beautiful and scenic views with a more laid back approach.

In a press release, The Sims 4 Snowy Escape Producer Graham Nardone shared that the team has always been looking to offer new ways for Simmers to play and this new expansion pack is going to offer everyone the freedom to choose their own adventures in a new world. He went on to say that regardless of “whether Sims want to hit the slopes and go on daring excursions on the mountain, prefer to unwind with scenic hikes and indulge in a day of relaxation, or even build their new dream home, this expansion pack provides something for everyone to enjoy.”

This upcoming expansion pack is also set to introduce features that are going give the personalities and relationships of the Sims some added depth.

The first is Lifestyles, with as many as 16 of them offered for the first time. These Lifestyles are going to manifest in response to a Sim's actions and habits and will change their behaviors significantly compared to Create a Sim traits since they reflect a Sim’s lived experiences. The second is known as Sentiments, which represents how two Sims can feel differently about the outcome of a shared experience. This should have a rather lasting impact on Sims’ relationships to each other and will affect their social interactions.

The Sims 4 Snowy Escape Expansion Pack is rated T for Teen and is going to be available for $39.99.
