Get your spurs and chaps on, because a new Showdown mode has been added to the Red Dead Online beta with this week’s update. The update also adds some new customization options and more.

First up is the new Showdown mode. Called Plunder, the game mode requires teams to fight their way to a central location on the map and gather resources. Once you have some supplies, quickly make it back to your team’s base to drop them off. Of course, all this is easier said than done. If you have supplies on you, you’ll appear on your opponents’ maps, making it easier to target you.

If you are truly feeling brave, you can even steal resources straight from your opponents’ base. The team with the most resources in their base at the end of the time limit is declared the winner. Plunder is kind of like Capture the Flag, but with multiple flags in a central location.

Three new clothing options are available at the stores and in the catalog. These include the Owanjila Hat, a Porter Jacket, and Concho Pants. Prices for these items can be found in the game.

Finally, Red Dead Online has been a temporary readjustment to allow for lower level players to buy better gear. A ll coats, holsters, boots, and gloves locked behind rank 40 or lower are available to all players until April 15. The Turkoman, Missouri, Fox Trotter and Arabian horses have also been lowered, and all can be acquired by players with a rank of 40 or higher. Lastly, Volatile Dynamite, Incendiary Buckshot, Explosive Slugs, Express Explosive and Dynamite Arrow pamphlets can be bought by any player ranked 60 or higher.

As for when Red Dead Online will leave beta and “officially” release, we don’t know just yet. Rockstar is likely working to add more game modes and features before the “beta” tag is dropped. We’ll likely know more about the final launch in the coming weeks.
