The interesting tidbits comes from the official poster, which shows Ash and Pikachu in what looks to be the Alola Region as they look to see the Johto Legendary, Ho-Oh, flying overhead.

Here’s Serebii’s tweet with a screengrab of the upcoming Pokémon poster.

The 2017 Pokémon Movie is the franchise’s 20th film and will likely celebrate the 20th anniversary of the franchise.

While there are some Legendary and Mythical Pokémon from the Alola Region the film could have spotlighted, the upcoming film will pay homage to the first episode of the Pokémon anime, when Ash and Pikachu saw Ho-Oh after the attack of the flock of Spearow.

Even the title of the film, Pokémon - I Choose You, was the title of the very first episode of the series.
